Cylinder assembly, rod and seal kit are separate identities
A complete cylinder includes the selected barrel, rod, piston, gland and end connections. A rod repair retains the barrel and gland; a seal repair retains the mechanical components. These are different quote lines.

Rod and bore describe different sealing surfaces
Rod diameter measures the chrome sliding member; bore measures the inside barrel. Stroke measures the difference between extended and retracted pin positions. The pin diameter and eye width describe the cylinder ends, not the sealing surfaces.

A45mm rod kit is not necessarily a full piston kit
John Deere AH147868 is a45mm rod-seal kit for loader-bucket cylinders includingAH146873. The H&D repair package has a press-in wiper, U-seal and buffer, with no piston seal. This scope differs from a full cylinder resealing kit.
Include the mechanical wear items in the overhaul order
Guide rings, pivot bushings, dust seals and retaining hardware can be listed with the main sealing package. Record the cylinder position and quantity: a twin-boom overhaul uses two boom-cylinder packages, and the arm cylinder has its own line.
Buying questions
Is the rod diameter the same as the bore?
The rod’soutside diameter and barrel’sinside diameter are different measurements with different seal groups.
What does stroke describe?
Stroke is the change in pin-centre length between retracted and extended positions. It differs from overall cylinder length.
Does AH147868 include piston sealing?
The45mm rod-kit example contains wiper, rodU-seal and buffer components. Its listed scope has no piston seal.
Can a rod be bought without the complete cylinder?
Yes. A rod is a structural rebuild component and retains the other selected cylinder components. New and remanufactured rod choices stay separate on the quote.
