Skid Steer Trenchers

A chain trencher cuts a narrow continuous trench and moves excavated material to the side. Select chain width, tooth pattern, boom depth and spoil auger with the skid-steer circuit. A 1200 mm depth specification is different from the length or nominal name of the attachment.

Chain teeth decide how the soil is cut

A cup-tooth pattern digs and carries loose soil. Carbide-equipped tooth patterns address more abrasive or harder ground. A combination pattern mixes cutting and carrying functions. Put the exact tooth pattern, chain pitch, chain width and sprocket connection into the order, then add replacement teeth and their fasteners.

Depth, spoil clearance and trench bottom

Boom position controls the cutting depth; the side auger places spoil beside the trench. A utility trench order states the target width/depth and the material to cut. The backfill route and receiving lane determine which side should receive the spoil. The finished trench profile is a work specification, rather than just a model-name search.

Buying questions

Does 84 inches mean 1200 mm digging depth?

The manufacturer’s table labels the configuration 84 inches and separately gives 1200 mm maximum trench depth. Use the depth field for the trench requirement.

What should a replacement-chain order include?

Width, pitch, length, tooth pattern and sprocket connection define the assembly. Teeth and fastening hardware are counted separately.

When choose an auger instead?

An auger creates individual holes; the chain trencher creates a continuous narrow excavation. The required shape of the excavation selects the tool family.
