A mechanical compaction wheel rotates as the excavator pushes it along placed material. Its pads apply kneading and pressure without an attachment motor. Match wheel width, diameter, pad layout and pin mounting to the trench and carrier.

Compaction width is not the whole attachment width
SC12 has 400 mm compaction width and 595 mm overall width. Its 840 mm wheel diameter and 935 mm overall height are separate fields. The trench-clearance drawing uses the overall envelope, and the pass planning uses the pad-working width.
Order pads, bearings and mounting by assembly
Specify wheel/pad layout, pin diameters, centres and inside mounting width together. Bearings, seals, pads and mounting pins are repeat-order items. The backfill work plan defines lift/material and test requirements; the wheel purchase provides the chosen mechanical tool for the specified passes.

Does a mechanical wheel need auxiliary hydraulics?
It is a motor-free mechanical assembly driven through carrier movement.
What is the difference between 400 and 595 mm?
For SC12, 400 mm is compaction width;595 mm is overall attachment width.
What identifies replacement bearings?
Wheel/model identity, bearing/seal dimensions and the axle assembly identify them.
