Start with the material you need to produce

A demolition job can involve several different tasks: breaking a slab, reducing loose rubble, separating soil from stone, or preparing material for the next stage of a project. Tell us what arrives at the attachment and what you need to leave it. Photos of both are more useful than a request for the biggest bucket.

  • Material: concrete, brick, natural stone or a mixed pile.
  • Typical and largest pieces, plus visible steel or other inclusions.
  • Required final size and intended use.
  • The excavator available and the space for feeding and stockpiling.

Break, crush or screen

A hydraulic breaker works on material that needs to be fractured at the work face. A crusher bucket reduces the size of suitable loose material. A screening bucket separates material through its screen openings. The choice follows the job, and some projects need more than one step.

Describe any reinforcement and mixed waste before selecting a crusher. For screening, send a close-up of the material and say whether it is wet, sticky or free flowing. These details help define the attachment type, feed preparation and screen arrangement.

Match the attachment to the excavator

Include the machine model, working weight and mounting arrangement. For a hydraulic attachment, add the available auxiliary flow, pressure and return-line information. The attachment, mounting bracket and any coupler all contribute to the installed package.

For project comparisons, request a working example using similar material and ask which hydraulic settings and feed preparation were used. Relate any production estimate to those conditions and the time available on your own site.

Ask for the attachment, mounting hardware, hoses, required hydraulic connections and the selected working tool or screen in one quotation. Add the wear items you want on hand and the destination so the supplied package and transport arrangement are clear.

  • Breaker package: mounting, tool selection and spare tools.
  • Crusher package: jaw configuration, feed requirements and replacement wear parts.
  • Screening package: chosen openings, basket arrangement and replacement screens.
